This beautiful hand carved and painted Tiki mask is from Fiji. It has the word “Bula” which is a common greeting of welcoming, good health and life. Tiki masks are hand-carved wooden masks that were originally used to stand in for deities, protect their users from evil spirits, or even increase the mask wearers’ fertility and luck.
I purchased this mask while in Australia. There is a metal loop at the top for hanging.
The mask measures 17″ long, 7″ wide.
The condition is as shown in the photographs. Structurally sound.
